** spoiler alert **
Each book of this series, I think, is like a mystery. The first book is about finding out why Lettie left. In this book, the search is for who is Lettie's baby.
My guesses were Yonnie and Heather. The midwife said Lettie gave birth to a daughter, but that was over 20 years ago so she could have been mistaken. Yonnie moved to Lancaster from Indiana, where one of the doctors who would know something about Lettie's baby happened to be. Heather, we find, is adopted and her father reveals the information that her birthfamily is Amish!
I really like the way Lettie is portrayed in this book. Her point of view is more interesting to read this time around. In the first book, her story felt distant, bu there the reader is more connected.
