really liked it
bookshelves: slipstream, magicians
Read in November, 1998

I read this book in a cold apartment my second winter out of college when I had the habit of eating canned vanilla frosting on graham crackers at night and my only roommate was a sickly ferret. This book gave me hope that seediness could possibly be suffused with magic. It also taught me about orreries.
