It boasts a classic Vonnegatian comedic end-of-the-world scenario, but <i>Slapstick</i> just doesn't quite live up to the standard set by his previous novels, and achieved again by later ones. I guess I can't really offer a better explanation. <br/> <br/>I read somewhere that Vonnegut considered this one the weakest of his catalog.
