A brilliant collection of amusing, interesting, thrilling or just funny short storys and novelettes accompanying our favorite supernatural-PI through his carreer. Or said in another way: Harry Dresden on his best.

My favourite piece out of this anthology must be "the warrior". very plain narrative, simple plot but nonetheless moving and thought evoking, presumably the most subtle and still far-reaching stories of this collection. and the character of "Jake" was brilliant too.

Nice way to close the gap, till the next volume will come up and almost tempting to go back and read a lot of the stuff mentioned in passing to renew the memories how much of this stuff came to pass.

There's no way any fan of the "case files" could get around this book, except maybe having hoarded all the other books with each a single of Butcher's stories in them and then still he/she would have missing "aftermath" and bee much poorer for the experience not made.
