It's a coincidence that I just finished this book as well. Thank you Julie for recommending it. It is a compelling story and book that has already been described in earlier reviews. I thought the last part of the book was surprising and yes, maybe the very end was a sentimental but the book was beautifully written and I enjoyed the reader of the book. It seems like maybe only in books do characters and lives weave in and out like that and redemption to some degree is achieved - it hasn't been my experience so far in life that things work like that. I can see that it could make a good movie.
