Read from September 12 to 13, 2010

Souless was down right magical. Changeless had it moments but was all over the place. I probably would've have never finished it if a pal hadn't told me a spoiler connected to bk 3; that compelled me to push through so I could read Blameless. Blameless was slightly less irksome than Changeless, but still had whole sections where I had to force myself not to skim.

I'm not a big fan when slews of new characters are introduced, or too much focus on introduced side characters that don't significantly add to the plot and are just there to fill pages. Which has much to do with my discontent. Bk 2 and 3 have very minimal interaction btwn Alexis and Lord Macon and way too much everything else. The dialogue is still very witty ( maybe a touch too witty), but didn't put a dent in how bored I was 70%- 80% of the time reading these.

Also the way things were resolved at the end was very Silly, I definitely respect Alexia less and dislike Conall more for it. It was no where near enough, it's as if Alexia transformed into Miss Hisslepenny in the last few pages.

I'd rate
Souless 5 stars
Changeless as 2 stars
Blameless as 2 1/2 stars ( I can't round it up to 3 stars, because saying "I liked it" would be a fib)

Cecilia Really? has the series gone down hill?

Mistress ~ ♠ Mistral's Kiss ♠ ~ (Mist) IMO, yes.

I'm not a big fan of slews new characters introduced, or wasted focus on blah already introduced characters that don't significantly add to the plot and are just there. That has much to do with my discontent. Bk 2 and 3 have very minimal interaction btwn Alexis and lord Macon and very much focus instead on anything but/ her band of merry men. The dialogue is still very witty ( maybe a touch too witty), but didn't put a dent in how bored I was 70%- 80% of the time reading these.

Also the way things resolved was very Silly, I definitely respect her less and dislike Conall more. It was no where near enough, it's as if Alexia transformed in Miss Hisslepenny the last few pages.

P.S. Thanks for asking babe. For some reason lately reviews spill out of me when one you awesome ladies inquire how a bk was; but when left to my own devices I'm rarely moved to make the effort. I'm gonna have get an imaginary friend stat lol.

Mistress ~ ♠ Mistral's Kiss ♠ ~ (Mist) I hear you zosia. I'm not sure if I would've given hindsight. But I figure if nothing else bk 1 was a fun introduction to steam-punk ( w/ austen-ish flair). I'm now interested in exposing myself to more of the genre. That sorta makes it worth it. lmao and btwn you and me despite all my smack talk I'm still holding out hope that things will return to awesome.

Karen I have to agree with your review but I gave it three stars. It took me a few weeks to finish this and the first one about two days. I still the characters are very unique but I'm starting to get confused as to whose side is who on and who's in charge. Like you said, the first one was downright enchanting, the second one a little bogged down and while this had plenty of adventure, I still had to slog through it.

Dinjolina So....are you going to quit them now?
Or are you still gonna read the next two?

Mistress ~ ♠ Mistral's Kiss ♠ ~ (Mist) I don't really know Dina, eventually perhaps. But I definitely wont be putting much effort into getting them if I do. Well...unless I hear something really juicy lol, and my curiosity gets away from me again.

Lol I don't really think that could happen in these series

Linda I agree with all of you. Blameless was yawn and I absolutely wanted to hurt alexia and conall. How dare she forgive him that fast? He should have not got away with that. He was an antitruster :[

Mistress ~ ♠ Mistral's Kiss ♠ ~ (Mist) Indeed. beyond distrust he kicked her out of their home, shaming her and putting her life and others in danger. The whole "c'mon baby..." resolution made me vomit in my mouth a little. I went on try the next book, and have officially given up. The shenanigans finally killed my patience.
