Enjoyable book with some serious written flaws. Story centers on two kids - one black, one white - who grew up for a few years together before being separated. From there they lived disparate lives - one of wealth and privilege, the other in poverty and neglect - while always yearning for each other. They are reunited after a time but still have issues from their past to work out.

There were random holes in the plot and characters that were left hanging that I think could have been flushed out a little, but an overall enjoyable read with some interesting looks at race, wealth, class, and viewpoints on life.
