A story about two sisters who inherit a house in the Hamptons? With a Gatsby storyline threaded in? This is a pure and total beach read and I am sure the title and plot summary suckered in many Fitzgerald-swooning, West Egg-dreaming women like myself. I read it in one day, albeit on the subway and laying in bed, not on the beach. It has some fun characters but is unfortunately eaten up by a predictable love story. Oh my god, shocking, the handsome stranger she meets at a Gatsby theme party is actually a childhood friend who is in love with her? You don't say. People familiar with the Hamptons and the North Fork will enjoy recognizing the places mentioned in the book-- I got a kick out of the mention of driving to buy fruit at Briermere, a farm on the North Fork whose fruit I ate every summer for 3 years when I was in a CSA.
