Powered by the sly and pop-culturally hip wit of Joe Hill and powerhouse art of Rodriguez this is a must read book. Many qualify the work as horror, and it assuredly has horror elements, but I think of more as a mystery. I frantically pick at the words and scenes for clues about why things are happening, what is upcoming and when revelations will appear. Each of the heroic characters is very sympathetic and likable in some way, though rife with flaws to make them interesting. Their relationships feel real, balanced and right both in the dialogue and acting portrayed in their art. I cannot recommend this highly enough to anyone who is a fan of comic book storytelling as a medium.
