Hmm. I'm relatively new to reading the Batman canon, although I have read Morrison's Arkham Asylum, as well as The Long Halloween. It's tough sometimes to slide into the mythology when you don't have the background. This collected edition was a bit strange for two reasons - there's a prose interlude in the middle concerning the Joker, with illustrations that just did not impress me. And, the last section takes a giant leap away from the action of the previous sections, which was a bit jarring. However, the art is great and the storyline has some intriguing elements.
