it was amazing

Wow, wow, wow. I knew how this book would end. I knew the author would survive. Yet, I still couldn't put it down. This was one of those that I read in one night - tender, touching, sad, hopeful.

It is an absolute miracle that Parrado and 15 others survived in the Andes for 72 days after a plane crash. Parrado was one of the reasons they survived. His bravery, toughness and smarts amazed me more and more as I turned the pages. I loved the photographs and hearing about the survivors' lives decades after the crash.

I will never forget how Parrado said he did not cry after losing his sister and mother in the crash because "tears contain salt," and he needed to conserve all the salt in his body he could.

LOVED this book!
