    <body><![CDATA[I picked this up after seeing &quot;Spunk&quot; at Actors Theatre here in town.  At first the written dialect of southern Floridians seemed a bit affected, but after I settled into the story, I became entranced.  I really started turning the pages toward the last third of the book during Janie's romance with Tea Cake.<br/><br/>It's a shame that Hurston died alone and penniless which such amazing writing as this.]]></body>
