it was ok
bookshelves: books-i-own, given-up-on-series, werewolves, young-adult
Read from March 08 to 13, 2011 — I own a copy , read count: 1

Overall, I felt pretty apathetic about this one. It wasn't that I liked it or disliked it... I simply didn't care. It didn't stand out to me as anything special or amazing- it just seemed to follow the formula of every second YA book out there at the moment.

I don't understand Grace, I really don't. She almost gets killed by these wolves, and then spends the next six years being completely in love with one of them. She was in love with a wolf. She didn't know he was a werewolf at that time- she was literally in love with an animal. It just doesn't make any sense to me and I found it all rather disturbing. She's also really self-absorbed, and drops her whole life just because some guy comes into it- she stops going to school, stops doing any work, stops talking to her friends. She's completely unsympathetic when someone from her school is killed by the wolves. She only cares about the wolves. She's incredibly selfish and annoying.

I thought Sam was pretty dull. There was nothing that made me like him, or care about whether or not he changed into a human anymore. His lyrics was... awful. I think it was intended to be moving and impressive, but I actually cringed every time I had to read some of them. He's also extremely melodramatic and says the weirdest things.

All in all, nothing amazing. I didn't hate it, but I didn't really like it either. I don't feel particularly compelled to read the next one.
