bookshelves: apocalpyse, authors_paolo_bacigalupi, young-adult, science-fiction

National book award nominee. Its also a mix of existing literature. Mix three parts upton sinclair and jack london, one part horatio algier, one part philip k. Dick and a dash of william s. Burroughs. Its a hopeful literary upsell for those 7th graders who prefer reading to playing Grand Theft Auto. This novel is also non-fiction today in many urban slums in the developing world, or 100 years ago in any industrial factory with child labor. I'm also hooked, good writing, and will watch for the sequels.
