This series seems to be an interesting take on vampires - they are an accepted part of humanity, a minority. They "came out of the closet" if you will. They are still very dangerous, but also vulnerable. I like the idea. The characters are interesting, and the relationships are good. Definitely has some adult moments, ones I wish I could skip over. I am looking forward to reading the second. It was a quick read, and I liked the whole serial killer plot. Good mystery. I have heard the tv series is super gross and violent, so I am reading the books instead. :)
