Very good, and carries quite a bit more resonance than Preston's first two solo novels. I've read a few reviews by irate Christians who claim it is an attack on their faith, but they are completely missing the point and somehow have the absurd idea that a piece of fiction's worth is somehow connected to whether the fictional characters within confirm one's faith or not (see The Da Vinci Code or The Golden Compass).

Unfortunately, today a lot of Christians do believe, like most of the Christians in Blasphemy, that science and faith cannot be reconciled, and the sad thing is that I could actually see Preston's scenario of extremists who think it's Armageddon really happening.(For the record, I firmly believe that science and faith are not mutually exclusive but ultimately reveal the same truths.)

And if you just want to sit back and enjoy a good thriller, Blasphemy is great for that too.

Nophoto-u-25x33 Your comment strikes a chord with me as I listen to this novel. In general, I'm quite pleased with the novel so far - decent writing quality, good style, decent characters and character development, and very interesting ideas regarding the nature of the universe, the nature of God, and various philosophical ideas. A great ride so far at about 1/3 of the way through.
