The Glass Menagerie is actually a written play about a young girl's life. I picked this book because glass makes me think of shiny and happy times, it was also interesting because I didn't know what Menagerie meant. However, it turned out to be just an okay book, not all that interesting. The only other play I've ever read was Death of a Salesman, which was much better than this read.
Because Laura is crippled, Amanda feels afraid that no suitors will be attracted to her. Amanda really wants Laura to be married to someone rich and support her. Finally, Laura meets the guy that she's had a crush on for since high school and they soon become closer.
