Maybe it was coming off the huge cliffhanger/shocker of the previous book, but I felt not enough happened here. The main source of drama is sucked away from this installment (being the prison and the evil governor), and we're left with a largely un-scary and un-intense part of the Walking Dead canon.

It's still as solidly entertaining and a breeze of a read as ever, but not as great as the first installments, that knew that zombies are scary, but humans can be just as terrifying.
