Pyramids (Discworld, #7)
by Terry Pratchett
by Terry Pratchett
I received raving reviews regarding the Discworld series from an acquaintance about a year ago and when I saw that the campus library had updated it's Leisure Reading section and now had quite a few Terry Pratchett novels on shelf, I decided to borrow this. Then I realised that this was the same novel I'd borrowed from the local library a few years ago and had returned without reading since the due date was up and I had very little time in which to read. So, I guess this was destined to be my first Terry Pratchett novel. I couldn't help being charmed by Pratchett's humour and wit; in this novel he has taken satire to a whole new level! Now I can see why the series was dsecribed to me as being "addictive". I'm already trying to decide which one to pull off the shelf next! But I guess that'll have to wait for a while since I've got four other books that have yet to be completed, and at least a dozen books waiting around patiently in the hopes of one day being read. I'm not one to dash hopes, so that means Mr. Pratchett's other works of satirical genius will just have to get behind and wait in line!
