For preteen and up readers who are interested in the Candy Drop operation, then this book is a great resource. Right after the end of World War 2, West Berliners found themselves being starved by the Russians. Allies came to their rescue with airlifts that gave them the supplies they needed to survive. Seeing the needy children, allied pilots started to parachute candy to the children of Berlin. With great photographs and interviews with pilots that actually did it, this is a great read about a great event in history. With uplifting photographs and easy to understand writing styles, this is a great resource book for any library collection.
