I keep reading Hamilton's work even though I get more and more disappointed. Her writing is hardly challenging, and it's clear that she's stuck with no direction for these characters, but yet the series is so lucrative for her that she's not willing to let them die.
This book seemed like a story arc that she attempted but wound up with nowhere to go. I've read this book at least three times before but with a different title.
I really love the early books in the Anita Blake series - I just wish she'd shake it up a bit.
