Another strange little book from my Newbery list, but again that strangeness is actually what helped me like it better. This book is about a young girl, Mona, who, growing up in a family of absolute misfits, is a misfit not only among her own misfits, but among the town as well. When her favorite uncle dies, she has a series of dreams or magical experiences that help her find a sense of self and place. Enjoyed the play on the artistic concept of caprichos.
