High Fidelity

Please note that I might be a little harsh in giving this two stars. Its just that I rate my books relative to recent ratings that I have given other books. I gave "A Widow For One Year" by John Irving 3 stars, and so I just can't give this book three stars.
Please also note that my rating could possibly have been influenced by my natural urge to be contrarian.
That said, I just didn't enjoy this book much at all. Rob Fleming is just so distasteful throughout that I didn't care whether he was happy or not. Do some of his quirky thoughts ring true? Yeah, a bit. But its not, like ohmigod, like totally a secret peek into a guy's head. Rob is pretty much a boring douche.
OK, that may have been harsh and the contrarian talking again. But the bottom line is that I only finished this book for two reasons (or, perhaps, one two-part reason): (1) I get a real sense of accomplishment from finishing a book (I probably only finished 6 or 7 last year), and (1.a.) this book was very short.
