it was amazing

I presume you know what the book is about. I'm letting you know what I liked or disliked about it.

This book is a typical Nicholas Sparks. Well written, gripping, compelling. You name it. But it wrecked me. Seriously wrecked me. It's been months since I've read it and I almost still can't talk about it without my throat getting too tight (okay - clamping closed).

I'm pretty old... almost too old to learn things about myself let alone anything as profound as being a "HEA" girl. I mean, really? Good grief. But there it is.

I didn't go see the movie. Knew I wouldn't even after I read how the ending had been changed. Nope - I just couldn't do it to myself. Aup. There I go - getting misty eyed again. So I'll stop right there!

This truly is a book I loved and hated in equal amounts. How frustrating!

I do not plan on reading another Nicholas Sparks Novel. Ever. I just don't see it happening. I wouldn't/couldn't risk putting myself through the ringer like that again. There was nothing cathartic about it.
