it was ok
bookshelves: young-adult, dystopian

I'd like to give it 2.5 stars but I don't feel I enjoyed it enough for three. It was a good take on a zombie novel and it was a very fast-paced read. But despite some novelty, I felt like I'd read it before, especially flashing to the film The Village. Definitely worth reading if you work with young adults.

There's a part of me which wonders if the second book will be better simply because it doesn't have elements of the Village to it.
