Steinbach sets out on an adventure of self-education through travel. On each stop she either signs up for a course of some type (cooking at the Ritz) or she hires someone to explain customs in a particular area (geisha in Kyoto). Some parts of the book are stronger than others; she could use an editor because she occasionally gets carried away with too much detail. But I enjoyed the book, especially the section on Florence.
