A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Penultimate Peril, is another sad unfortunate story of the Baudelaire orphans life’s. It also feels a little like a mystery book because even though it answers a few questions it still leaves many more to think about. Another thing that’s good about the book is it has a high level vocabulary that the writer helps the reader understand within the story.
I would recommend this book because it was fun to read.
In this story Violet, Klaus and Sunny were given a mission by Kit Snicket to go to the hotel Denouement working as concierges in the hotel and to study the people there to see if they were good people or villains. They are doing this because the group VFD is going to have a meeting on Thursday and if something went wrong then the Baudelaire needed to find a way to send a message to stop the meeting. Kit also said they needed to find the right manager because the managers were twins. Frank was the twin that they could trust and Ernes was not to be trusted. In the hotel they saw many of the people that worked for count Olaf. The three of them split up taking a different floor to see what information they can find about Olaf’s plan.
