really liked it
bookshelves: biography-history

In a time where women's ambitions were not expected to go beyond marriage and children, Idina wanted more. She wanted love and a faithful husband.
When I first started reading the book I was shocked by the fact that she had abandoned her two little boys. How could she??? Even if I cannot imagine doing that I can't also imagine the hypocrisy she would have had to display to stay married.
This book raises the question of what to choose one's self or children? I really liked reading the book even if it left a bitter sweet taste. I guess I am too used to happy endings.
