Not a great book, but the message is one everyone should read and absorb. Namely, achievement depends on mindset that accomplishment comes from effort not innate "talent". Praising kids for effort is smart, praising them by saying "you're a genius!" or "you're great at maths!" isn't. Kids who are praised for innate talent shy away from challenges because they're afraid their talent will be exposed as a fraud.
Book falls down by succumbing to the usual psych/business book malady, assuming that everyone exemplifies their theory--from Shakespeare to Einstein and Jack Welch. And, of course, the ubiquitous Mozart.
