this is another book i read a few months ago for a book club that i have never gotten around to reviewing. i definitely liked this book, but i wouldn't say its my favorite WWII book. the book is told from the perspective of "death" which is a super interesting concept, but it was almost too clever of an idea. that probably doesn't make any sense, but i kind of felt that parts of the book's narration were a bit contrived. almost like the author was precariously close to crossing the line into "trying too hard," throughout much of the book.

BUT i still liked the book and think that its a great book club book because there's plenty to discuss about it.
