Okay, it wasn't the worst book I've been forced to read. It just had way too much unnecessary build up. And most of it wasn't even about Charles's early life, it was mostly background on specific counties and New Orleans as a whole. It's like some dramatic and complicated set up that could have been summed up by the sentence "blacks and whites didn't so much like each other." But the last 50 or so pages, where the actual riot begins, was pretty disturbingly fun to read.

Mitchel Broussard Eugh its all set up right now too, no death and mayhem. 20 bucks this is the entire book and the last page will be like " and hen he killed a whole lot of ppl" the end.
