It is a looong book. Actually, three books, and each one was long. It took me almost a month to finish them, but it was worth the read. Dekker did a good job of presenting the gospel in a fantasy type world, while maintaining a message that maintains a consistent view of the truth.
When the book first started, I got a little board. It took a while to set the stage and draw the reader in. When it did, it was a very gripping story with well built characters, and a well thought out plot - or series of plots.
It's hard to pull off a dual reality type story, but Dekker did it well. So well in fact, that I realized I wasn't questioning the plausibility of the story, but just accepted it. It was seamlessly woven into the story. I'm not big on fantasy, but I recommend this trilogy.

I'll have to give it another shot. I got so tired of reading about emerald trees in Black, that I put it down. I do love Dekker's work, but couldn't stick with this one.
