The Overton Window
by Glenn Beck
by Glenn Beck
This book wasn't really good... at all. I have liked some of Glenn's other books, but this one just tanked. First of all, it was an attempt for Glenn to share some of his personal feelings about the government, and to try and show his audience both his opinions and the opinions of his critics. These opinions took up most of the text of the book. And many times the opinions he wanted to share weren't placed well within the context of the characters' discussions.
Something I have noticed about Glenn's writing is that he focuses on the fact that "changes need to be made" but then fails to give any solutions to the problems, or suggestions to his followers about how they can make a difference. Without guidance, it seems like he is just blowing smoke.
As far as the book itself, the writing was good and flowed well, but the story line sucked. There just wasn't any real meat to the story. Again, it seemed like Glenn just wanted to promote his political views, and the storyline was an afterthought.
Unless you really like Glenn Beck's political opinions, I would suggest you not read this book.
