If GoodReads would allow half stars, I'd rate this more as a 4 1/2. This was a pretty long read but I did enjoy it. I do agree to some extent with other reviewers regarding their comments on the redundancy of the sex scenes, although I was not put off by that. I like books loaded with lots of hot sex ;0) so it was fine by me, but if that's not so much your thing, you might find it tiresome. The hints at Jacks background were answered well enough for me. (view spoiler) There were extremely light elements of BDSM, so much so I almost hesitate to even use the term. The age gap was never an issue like I thought it would be. I think this was because Ricky was very mature for his age (19 & 20) and to me, getting near 40 myself, I don't perceive someone who is 48 to be old :0) If Jack were in his 60's with a 20 year old, that would wierd me out, but their personalities fit so well and they were so perfect for each other that the age difference just seemed to melt away. I'd love to see another book about Ricky and Jack to see how things work out for them as Ricky finishes up school. Does Ricky's mom ever get over her (disgusting) issues? All-in-all an enjoyable read even if a bit long.
