** spoiler alert ** Novalee Nations has been superstitious about sevens. At her 7th birthday, she was left behind by her Momma Nell. At her 7th grade, her friend was sent to different school.

She was 17 and pregnant for 7 months yet she didn’t have sevens in her mind as she experienced pain and need to pee every now and then during her trip to California with her boyfriend.

But not until she received her change of $7.77. She knew something bad has happened. And she’s right. She was dumped by her boyfriend. Left behind at WalMart, where she would live secretly for two months, where she would deliver her baby, where she will start a new.

She met good-natured people, people that love her and her daughter, Americus, so much they’ve been their family who helped, guided and supported her all through out.

However seven didn’t leave her alone, when Americus was 7 weeks, 7 months and 7 year-old tragedies happened. There was a time Americus was kidnapped. Sister Husband died. And a time when she got a news about Americus’ father.

Yet in the end, she still live happily ever after. Her dreams came true, she had her own house and a man who love her and Americus.

The story has the touch of realness. Plain and simple.
