I don't own them, but I watched it and I read the book. And basically around the same time too. What about you?

Read in August 2010. Watched in March/April (don't remember which month) 2011.

I mean, a DVD isn't even a long-lasting solution to storing your favourite movie. It depends on the DVD's lifespan, like, e.g. Gold label DVDs can have a lab-rated life-span of 100 years.
If handled properly, they obviously last longer. Few years up to 30 years usually though.
