I have to say that it is very difficult if not impossible to enjoy this book. Not because it isn't well written or because the story isn't interesting, but because at some point it's difficult to stomach what happens to Paige in this book. It's not the sort of rage that has you rooting for Elena in "Stolen" but a sort of slow churning disgust at Paige for being such a push over. The people in her life are no good. Everyone from Savannah to her Coven sisters are all awful people. Savannah is unlike any child I have ever met. I have several younger siblings, I volunteer with younger kids and I have nieces and nephews, so I know and love young people of all ages. Savannah is a child that no one could ever love, that may sound harsh but never in my life have I wanted to spank a child until I read this book. It's to the point where I wanted Paige to stop and just hand the kid over and wash her hands clean. Savannah is the worst portrayal of a teen/tween that I have ever come across. There's but so much sympathy you can feel for someone who has no respect, concern or sympathy for the person who loves her and is trying their best to make a good life for her. Cortez is a very weak love interest. He is not even described well, I have no picture in my head of what he looks like and I don't care. While he's sweet enough and you want Paige to get any kind of happiness and he's good enough, he's boring and never really proves to be useful in the supernatural world. Also, Paige's prejudice toward Cortez in the beginning of the book is annoying, I understand it, but it's written like petty prejudice. What a horrible follow up to Stolen.

I see what you are saying with Savannah, but I loved Paige and Lucas. I loved their strip spell casting.

I loved books 1,2,and 4 upwards but was disappointed with this book. Paige was getting on my damn nerves with the constant 'you're not my lawyer and I don't trust you' caper which lasted half the book. Savannah is unpleasant, rude and bitchy. I felt like the book only became interesting half way through and it pains me to say that when I love the author! Paige is such a different and more likable character in Industrial Magic
