-The chosen is about a Jewish boy, Reuven Malter, who befriends a Hasidic Jewish boy of the same age in the final days of WWII. Reuven and Danny move through a vivid recollection of late 1940’s NYC, as they struggle to overcome their differences. It is a good book that will introduce the Gentile reader to Judaism with superior prose and very well written debates and conversations. This book was mentioned in the TV series Lost and contains many parallel themes.
