I guess I am one of the few who actually liked the book. Do I like the timeline being messed with, not necessarily, but I realize the storyline will get boring unless the author shakes things up. It is also nice to be surprised/stunned by an author every once in a while which is what happened when I read the last sentence of this book. I didn't see that ending coming. Hopefully Betsy will be able to straighten up the timeline so that some things don't happen but I don't see how the last sentence can be avoided. I must admit it was pretty ingenious of Mary Janice Davidson to come up with the idea that just about made me fall out of bed in shock. I am curious to find out what new revelations will come out in the next book.
I have read many reviews complaining that Betsy is cold and evil (for lack of a better term) in the future, but let's not forget that she is powerful and power corrupts. She doesn't have any of the "good" influences around anymore and she has lived for a long time and has become jaded. This is something I am sure Betsy will try to prevent from happening in future books.
