The last time I was at the Belleville Public Library they were selling all five of Timothy Zahn's early Star Wars books (he wrote a couple more, but these are his best ones -- the ones about Grand Admiral Thrawn). I loved these books back in high school, so I couldn't resist the urge to buy all of them at the same time -- especially when they were in excellent condition and only a buck each.

Having finished reading the first book, I now remember why I loved them. Fast paced action (I generally prefer a little bit more description, but I'm willing to forgo that when the author does such a good job of moving the plot forward), great characters, a plot which interweaves the different schemes and out-thinking of the two sides... It's been a while since I've read a book this fast, but this book definitely grabbed my attention and brought me back to high school days.
