Bed of Roses (Bride Quartet, #2)
by Nora Roberts
by Nora Roberts
2.5-Well, I think at some point you have to try Nora Roberts as her books are literally everywhere. Kudos to her for being the hardest working author I can think of.
I think Roberts has a true talent for dialogue and describing interactions between people, those elements really stood out in this book. The interplay in the romantic relationships and friendship among the women was wonderful.
The extensive description of weddings and wedding related matters is girly wish fulfillment taken to an extreme, and I wish it had focused more on characters and less on descriptions of flower arrangements and icing choices. This book would have been a solid 3 for me without all that.
The contrived conflict at the end was a bit over the top, there were obvious hints of what was to come throughout the book, but it all seemed to blow up all of a sudden and the reactions to the incident by all the characters seemed totally exaggerated.
Overall, I enjoyed it and would pick up Roberts again for the escapist fun of it.
