I loved the premise for this one and I loved the non-ton setting. It is refreshing to read about a different facet of Regency/early Victorian life. The hero was pretty good, although for such a smart guy, I was surprised he couldn't see a way out of the predicament facing the heroine, and, to be honest, I never really got why the heroine found him so super-irresistible. Yeah, sure, he's gorgeous and brooding an' all, but he behaved like such a possessive jerk. The heroine was also pretty good, but something about her didn't warm me. She was clearly strong enough to make her own way, but not strong enough to tell the hero to grow up? Nah, didn't buy that. I struggled to feel much sympathy with either the hero or heroine, despite my interest in the plot and setting. There were also one or two small things which irritated, not least that bathers at Bath always wore clothes. The ladies would have worn pale yellow versions of ordinary dresses - so the sulfur wouldn't stain. Anyone who has visited the spa could easily find that out. 3.75 stars.

Oooh...This and the Vallerands are the only LK series I haven't read. I might need to move this up the TBR!

I ended up pretty frustrated. It was such a great, original idea, but the hero and heroine just weren't totally up to snuff for me. Some of the secondary characters, like the hero's brother and Logan Scott were far more intriguing. But I've now started Because You're Mine, so it can't have been a total disaster!!
