really liked it

This book made me think, and opened my eyes a little. Being born and raised in CA in my generation, race isn't an issue. More melatonin, less... whatever. This book made the race issue in the South in the 60's a reality for me. I had no idea it could be so ugly for some.
I love Minny, and I hate Hilly. And Elizabeth. Celia was curious, and Skeeter's mom was annoying. (Poor Skeeter.)
I am impressed with the author's ability to write in first person for three different women. Each woman's voice is distinct and clearly heard. Good story line. Made me grateful to live where I do and when I do!
