A glittering evening ends in tragedy, as a car plummets off a cliff. The driver is killed, and the women who meet at the Sea Harbor yarn shop each Thursday night worry about the survivors, especially their friend Gracie Santos. Gracie is in the midst of a (harmonious) divorce from the son of her family's rivals in construction, and is working to open her own restaurant. Her erratic mother is a suspect in the eyes of the police. There seems to be no one to help her but the knitters.
