i enjoyed the boy who harnessed wind. this book was about a young boy names william kamkwamba and his sad but also inspiring biography. MY impression of this book was that it was most likely made to inspire anybody who may have the same trouble or who are going through anything similar. I also feel as though this book was made to share the troubles that people in africa have to deal with. like with the frequent famines in the story and how hard it is to grow livestock when the weather is uncooperative. one thing that i liked about this book is that how descripyive it was. an example is one passage when william was building the windmill the book told you what he made the windblades out of a pail that he melted. The plot of the story was william being born in malawi a country where magic ruled and modern science was unknown. william is trying to get an education, but he had to keep dropping out because his family couldnt pay the fee's for his school. william then went to an local library they had opened up and got intrested in an book called explaining physics. william then goes through an series of expierements too harness the wind power and powers lights in his house and radios. The ending of this book was also good william was reconized by many people for his windmill invention and ended up traveling to palces such as calafornia, and chicago. And could go to school again thanks to people funding for him. william then went to ala where william was surrounded by colleagues who struggled like him and understood him. i reccomend this book to people who wish to be inspired or any eith graders going into high school. the style of this book is autobiography. the characters in this story play an important role, William was a good kid that i think jus wanted a fair chance in life and an education and when he couldnt get it he studied even more. people our age i dont think does that jus because gilbert (williams friend) helped out william financially to get him where he is now with his windmill such as paying for parts like ac batteries when william couldnt afford it. williams father i think based off of the book wanted his kids to live the best way they can and according to the story williams father turned his life to jesus after constantly getting drunk and the lord constantly bailing him out. Over all i feel as though this book was great and it impacted me from when he had to kill his dog that was starving during the famine to when williams mother was sick. It had me in suspense since williams sister left home and diddnt come back and got married! This book i think this book if showed to everyone in the world can impact it greatly.
