I read Gone With the Wind when I was in high school, and I was frustrated with the end of the greatest American love story I'd read. So when I saw the book on my mom's friend's bookshelf, I didn't hesitate to borrow it. I needed to know what happened with Scarlett and Rhett... it couldn't be over just like that!
And while sequels are usually not well received by the general public, I think Scarlett did justice to its characters. Margaret Mitchell's novel is a masterpiece, but I think Alexandra Ripley did a great job as well.
