Read from November 20 to 22, 2010

From the first time I saw this book, I always had the feeling I would like it. Sometimes, you just get the feeling that when you look at a book cover, you know you're either going to absolutely love or hate what you're about to read. And this was no exception. Lauren Oliver's debut novel Before I Fall, is one of my favorite books of 2010 and one of the greatest books I've ever read.

I've read a lot of good books lately but...its no exaggeration saying this one by far surpassed the many that I have. Not only was the writing spectacular, realistic, and original, but from the very beginning, my heart felt tense with pain and emotion as the story trudged on.

And I was actually taken by surprise. Multiple times. I've never been so clueless while reading a book before and I'm usually able to guess what's going on. But not this time. I was baffled each and every time something was revealed in this novel because the plot was so brilliantly woven.

Lauren Oliver has written a masterpiece. This book made me laugh, cry, angry, and confused, ecstatic and happy and dying for more. Although the ending nearly killed me, I thoroughly enjoyed this tantalizing tale and I can't wait for more.

Quotes Lindsay Liked

Lauren Oliver
“Maybe you can afford to wait. Maybe for you there's a tomorrow. Maybe for you there's one thousand tomorrows, or three thousand, or ten, so much time you can bathe in it, roll around it, let it slide like coins through you fingers. So much time you can waste it.
But for some of us there's only today. And the truth is, you never really know.”
Lauren Oliver, Before I Fall

“I guess that's what saying good-bye is always like--like jumping off an edge. The worst part is making the choice to do it. Once you're in the air, there's nothing you can do but let go.”
