did not like it

I couldn't even finish this, and I finish everything. I've read most of Coupland's work and rather enjoyed it, especially as I'm a Vancouverite, where almost all of his books are located. This book seemed like an afterthought, an idea that he had (fleshing out the concept of a real, live Eleanor Rigby), but then it fell flat. Lame plot, lame and stereotypical character development, self-indulgent prose to the point of being oh-so-hipster. If this was his first book, I would have never picked up another. This is a discount _She's Come Undone_ without the wonderful, arcing storyline or depth of emotion. Pass.
