A Summer Affair

I know...this is normally not my type of book. I bought it at a book sale for $1. The cover is goofy--at no time in this book did anyone ever kiss barefoot on the beach during broad daylight!
That said, it's the story about the perfect wife and mother (Claire Danner) who falls for a rich businessman (Lock Dixon--that name kills me) in Nantucket while chairing a charity event. I think the overall theme of the book is that people are not perfect, they go through bad patches in their life and marriage, they come to their senses and end up learning a lot about themselves.
Confession: I bought the book because it sounded like it was going to be juicy--but as it turns out, not so much! There was pretty decent character development and not so bad writing, so I was pleasantly surprised!
I would recommend this for a summer read but not for a book club. Enjoyable but not too "deep."

I've actually read a book by this author! It was called "The Beach Club" and it was the PERFECT "beach read" -- in fact, I read it on vacation on the beach! This was quite a few years ago, and I'm guessing my taste in reading has changed a bit, so I don't know if it would be as good to me now, but I did look for other books by her since I enjoyed it, and never found any.
