Okay, so... the first and second time we met Thomas (over the entire course of the Dresden Files series), I in NO WAY associated those two meetings with the same person. They flat out weren't. The character was written in such a dramatically different way as to make me do a double take when Thomas B referenced events that Thomas A had been involved in.

Now that Thomas is a major character settled into being just ONE character, I like him a whole lot more. I'm also beginning to like Murphy more, especially now that she isn't being a pain-in-the-butt disbeliever. It got old, throwing an angry little cop at Dresden just to create conflict.

I think Butcher still has some work to do on his plots. I'm sure people will disagree with me, but there it is - his books are SO overstuffed, it's like he's trying to create conflict on every single page, every single instant, and he does it by adding more storyline. I feel like I'm being jerked around left and right, trying to follow all the little threads that will, I'm sure, eventually all come together.

The fact that they eventually all come together is also allowing me to predict the ending sooner and sooner in each book.

All that being said, I do enjoy this popcorn series, and plan to keep reading it. Just ordered the most recent release off amazon, so maybe I just like to complain. :)
